If you love modern quilting, particularly foundation paper piecing, this is the newsletter for you! You'll find a dose of rainbow, a little creative shenanigans and a bunch of quilty chatter coming your way each week.
The other day I realised it's been a year since we built my studio! I've shifted things around, changed the setup a bit, added a longarm machine, and spent many, many hours playing with fabric, sewing and designing since then. Basically it's my happy space. For those who may not have seen it, I did a series of videos on YouTube showing the progress. This one's the big reveal when everything was all set up.
Essentially we built a big shed in the backyard, then had it all fitted out and made pretty to turn into my studio space. It's given me a great separation between my work space and my home life, and I can leave projects midway through now without worrying they'll get disturbed (usually by the cats but occasionally by a human family member ;) ). Oh AND all my scissors stay put! They don't mysteriously disappear to be used for nefarious purposes (i.e. anything that is not fabric).
I was thinking I might do an update video to share it with you. I mean, I've been sewing like a fiend of late, so it needs a big tidy up first. So while I'm doing that, if you have any questions about the studio you'd like me to answer, just hit reply to this email and lemme know!
Got the goodies?
With just days left of September, I'm popping in with a little reminder about the birthday bonuses waiting for you in Make Mine Mini! We're celebrating our third birthday of the membership, and what's a celebration without goodies?
Here's a lil look in pictures of what you can find in Make Mine Mini this month!
Sewing themed patterns (both in multiple sizes), a big bonus script alphabet, not available anywhere else, and of course... cake! The pattern kind alas, not the eating kind.
All of this, plus more, is waiting in Make Mine Mini during September. Get all the details and join us by clicking that button! Be quick, we're ticking over to October soon and these birthday bonuses will disappear!
Sometimes I get an idea in my head for a pattern design, and I just have to put everything else aside to design and then sew it up. Such is the case with this little geometric ghostie! It rather puts me in mind of a crazy quilt, patchwork style ghost! I'd like to think that's what my ghost costume will look like were I a ghost ;)

This lil guy will be floating into Make Mine Mini for October - exclusive to members. Which just means that if you've been thinking about joining Make Mine Mini, this might be one more reason to do it ;)
The birthday cake is mere crumbs, the balloons are deflating, and I'm about to start tossing the party hats in the bin as we come to the end of birthday month around here.
So just a quick lil reminder if you didn't yet hit the shop with that discount code... it's your last chance!
Just pop the code bday in at the checkout and save 15% on all PDF patterns in the shop.
Also ending in September is The Modern Botanical Sampler bundle! If you've been eyeing it off and thinking how you'd like to add 16 fun garden themed patterns to your collection, this is your last chance!
Need a lil more quilty inspiration? Let me add to that by sharing some of the fun finds I've come across in my internet travels.
Colour Study with Alison Glass!
Color Study is a free quiltalong from the rainbow queen Alison Glass. It's made up of 25 different main blocks, with changes in scale, shape, color, and value throughout. Sew a block a week starting October 2nd!
Beginning October 2, we'll focus on one block each week.
I'm trying to resist the lure of the sewing machine while I tidy up the studio. I have stacks of scraps, bolts of fabric, printed patterns, half finished blocks, all over the place. While I love a bit of creative mess, it'll be much nicer when the studio is tidy. So while I'm doing that, don't forget to hit reply and lemme know if you have any questions about my studio space, or anything you'd like me to share in my next studio update video!
Whether you're also tidying, or doing more fun things like sewing, have a brilliant week and make a lil creative time just for you!
Happy sewing!

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Carnival of Flowers has arrived here in Toowoomba - so September is all about the blossoms and the blooms. It seems I have absorbed that, perhaps somewhat subconsciously, or maybe I just really like sewing flowers ;) But I have some flowery goodness to share! First up - I got the binding on my Tilda Embroidery Flower quilt and it's complete! We even popped down to one of the local gardens for some photos. The gardens were full of...
Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Spring has arrived here in Australia and all the flowers are starting to bloom. Near where I live in Toowoomba, each year they have the Carnival of Flowers. Toowoomba is known as the Garden City, but it's next level when it's Carnival! It's a huge event with the stunning gardens and flowers as the centrepiece. With this happening, I figured it was an excellent time to get my Tilda Embroidery Flower quilt finished so that I could...
Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Birthday weekend is now complete! I celebrated on Friday with morning tea with my wonderful family. I had grand plans for some serious sewing time in the arvo (translation: afternoon) with my new Featherweight machine (hello perfect birthday gift!), but it got slightly derailed. But by a good event. My youngest got her L's! For the non Aussies, that's the learner's licence. At 16, once they pass an online test, they can get their...
