If you love modern quilting, particularly foundation paper piecing, this is the newsletter for you! You'll find a dose of rainbow, a little creative shenanigans and a bunch of quilty chatter coming your way each week.
Last newsletter I mentioned something fun coming this way - well now it's out in the world, I can tell you all about it! One of my fave things in the quilty world is working with other designers and collaborating. I teamed up with eight fab FPP designers to create a beautiful bundle of patterns themed on our favourite thing - the sewing room!
Check these out!

Nine blocks, nine designers, nine days of FPP fun - and all free! Thanks to the fabulous creators - Satomi Quilts, Hunters Design Studio, Sasha's Quilts, Whole Circle Studio, Rosie Taylor Crafts, Liza Taylor Handmade, Joe June and Made, Alderwood studios and me! (Bet you can guess which pattern I designed!)
Jump on the waitlist and these patterns will be yours, starting on the 20th August.
We're stitching up the cutest little chickens this month in Make Mine Mini. I really want to make an entire quilt of chickens - I just need more hours in the day for all the sewing I want to do.
This is a messy, not-staged, not tidied, late-afternoon, badly lit pic taken as I was stitching my chicken. It's the photo that I snap mid sew to send to my sewing pals going "look what I made!". And you guys are my virtual sewing pals, so I figure you can see it too ;) It might me messy but I love this chicken!
β
And for some better pics, check out the versions that the amazing pattern tester crew stitched up! Left is by Amanda, right is by Wendy. Aren't they adorable?
How good are those chickens in the shades of brown? When I somehow magic up more time in my day and sew my chicken quilt - I'm going to have chooks in all the colours!
If you want to try making your own, join us in Make Mine Mini!
You'll get this lil happy chook, plus a hatching chick - both patterns in multiple sizes, plus a heap of membership benefits - discounts, bonus patterns, and more!
In case you'd like to hear from one of our lovely members, Dena shared this lovely review!

Behind the scenes I've been thinking, mulling and pondering on a new Block of the Month for 2027. I have lots of ideas, but I thought it'd make much more sense to ask -you-, dear reader, what you would like to see in a Block of the Month?
I've popped together a little survey and would be ever so grateful if you had a few minutes to answer it. There's a little discount tucked away at the end by way of thank you!
There's a new pattern added to the shop - a cute little swirly snail! I designed this lil guy awhile back as part of a bigger pattern. But I decided he needed to be his own pattern. Plus I really wanted to sew it up.
β
Do I have a plan for this block? No. Did I have time to sew this up? Also no. Do I even like snails? No again. Do I love this block? Yes, yes I do.
If you want to sew a snail for no reason too, head on over to the shop and make this lil guy yours!
A couple of fun things in the quiltosphere have caught my eye and I thought you might like them too. Our community is always so full of fun and creativity. Check these out!

By the time you read this, I'll have ticked a little something off my quilty bucket list. And that is... adding a Singer Featherweight to my sewing machine collection!
I was so jealous of the featherweights on our recent retreat and I've wanted one for such a long time. I found one at a great price from a fellow quilter, and my very thoughtful partner (well, now fiance!) decided it would be the perfect gift for my birthday next month. First a quilty proposal, now a quilty birthday gift, he's a keeper right?
So give me any hints or tips that I need to know about using a featherweight machine! I'll take some photos to share next newsletter once I get the hang of stitching on it! Assuming I get to open the birthday gift early, that is! β Wishing you a week full of fabric, fun and foundation piecing!
Happy sewing!

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! The other day I realised it's been a year since we built my studio! I've shifted things around, changed the setup a bit, added a longarm machine, and spent many, many hours playing with fabric, sewing and designing since then. Basically it's my happy space. For those who may not have seen it, I did a series of videos on YouTube showing the progress. This one's the big reveal when everything was all set up. Essentially we built a...
Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Carnival of Flowers has arrived here in Toowoomba - so September is all about the blossoms and the blooms. It seems I have absorbed that, perhaps somewhat subconsciously, or maybe I just really like sewing flowers ;) But I have some flowery goodness to share! First up - I got the binding on my Tilda Embroidery Flower quilt and it's complete! We even popped down to one of the local gardens for some photos. The gardens were full of...
Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Spring has arrived here in Australia and all the flowers are starting to bloom. Near where I live in Toowoomba, each year they have the Carnival of Flowers. Toowoomba is known as the Garden City, but it's next level when it's Carnival! It's a huge event with the stunning gardens and flowers as the centrepiece. With this happening, I figured it was an excellent time to get my Tilda Embroidery Flower quilt finished so that I could...
