Heather made many of these TVs while sitting at a craft show - the perfect way to while away a little time. She drafted her own version of the big tv for the outside, mixing a bit of piecing and applique. Isn't it such an amazing quilt!

I made this lil Bear Hug block and decided it'd be the perfect centre of a sweet baby quilt. A few simple borders, a cute pantograph (Dandy Hearts by Sew Shabby Quilting) and tada, done!
Like to make your own little Bear Hug? You can find the paper pieced pattern to make the block (measuring 12" square) in the shop. Add a few borders and you have a quick and easy baby quilt!

Winter has arrived here in our part of the world. While I live in Queensland, which much of the state isn't known for cold weather, head a little inland and it's delightfully cooler. Here in Toowoomba, the leaves are changing colour, and after a few recent storms and rainy days, the temperature dropped to 10C (50F) over the weekend. I'm loving digging out the winter jumpers (what we Aussies call sweaters) and warm socks. It's also making it extra lovely to hang out in the studio and do my favourite things - sew and design patterns!
Whatever the weather in your part of the world, I hope that you're finding a little time to carve out to stitch and sew. If not, why not book one of those retreats I mentioned above and make that time? ;)

It was such a wonderful retreat, and we loved having extra tours and sightseeing mixed in to our sewing time. In fact, Ange (from GnomeAngel) and I enjoyed it so much, we're planning to do it again next year! The island is such a beautiful community - everyone waves as you pass them driving, cows have right of way, chickens wander freely, tourists are welcomed...
