If you love modern quilting, particularly foundation paper piecing, this is the newsletter for you! You'll find a dose of rainbow, a little creative shenanigans and a bunch of quilty chatter coming your way each week.
I've spent a little less time at the sewing machine this week as I've been glued to watching the NASA livestream and the Artemis II journey to the moon. We're a household of space nerds so we set alarms and made sure we were up and about to watch the launch. Since then we've loved checking in to see what the astronauts are up to, listen to the interviews and the press conferences. It's a really uplifting thing to focus on in the midst of some rocky times in the world. It's incredible what humanity can achieve when we work together! If you haven't yet, pop on over to the NASA youtube channel to watch some of the livestream!
But enough space talk (for now anyways!), back to the sewing chatter!
I shared the waitlist last week for an upcoming Block of the Month - The Pantry! We'll be sewing cute jars of jam, bottles of sauce and tins of fruit (or veg if you prefer!).
I thought you'd like a bit of an overview of my version of the quilt - naturally I did a rainbow version. I loved the Strawberry Fields panto (from Sew Shabby) to add lil strawberries all over. Here's a glimpse of how it looks - I promise more photos to come when we get the quilt to the park for some pretty outdoorsy snaps.

The beauty of this quilt design is it's full of options. It really is a choose your own adventure! You get six containers to choose from and 16 fruit and veges. Mix and match to your heart's content. Or.... fussycut those labels with favourite fabrics!
Intrigued? Jump on the waitlist to find out more and to nab an earlybird discount when the doors open!
It has been so much fun seeing our clever maker's flower quarters coming together so far this month. Check out these beauties! Amanda (Prairie Quilt Co) is making hers on a low volume background and Martha (Elf Quilter) is making hers on a striking dark grunge-style.
I've also been working on creating a full quilt with the framed version of the flowers. I've quilted it up on the longarm and just need to get it outside to take some proper photos. But I couldn't resist a sneak peek in the meantime!
β
I framed each of the twelve flowers and created a staggered look. It makes for such a lovely throw quilt! Our Year of Flowers makers get the frame pattern as a little bonus, and I've also included assembly instructions to make this Framed Flowers version of the quilt. Plus there's also the version to create the original wreath. Alllll the options!
Here's a lil close up of the quilting because I love it so! The pantograph is Dandy Cloud by Sew Shabby. The pink is tricky to photograph but it's delightful in real life!

If you'd like to join us, we'd love to have you! You'll get all the patterns released so far, and each new one comes out on the 15th of the month. The above Lily of the Valley will be our May flower coming out next week!
Love a sleepy little sloth? Maybe some hibiscus flowers? How about a monstera style leaf? You can find all of them in the April patterns in Make Mine Mini!
Keen to see how this lil sloth looks in different fabrics? Check out these versions that Kathryn (@kambahkate) and Inja (@injametzger) made. Aren't they awesome?
If you love foundation paper piecing and would like brand new patterns straight to you each month, why not come and join us? Best Monthly Patterns out there!!!
Iβve enjoyed the Make Mine Mini patterns since the start, and every month they delight me with their happy, whimsical designs - each one perfect for the month! I always look forward to seeing the newest one!
Here's a couple of fun things I've been a part of in our quilting community that you might be interested in!
Sam from Hunters Design Studio invited me to her podcast to chat all things collaborative - a lil sneak peek behind the curtains of what goes into creating a quilty collaboration. Sam's a dear friend of mine and it's always great so share our thoughts!
Clue Two of the Cotton Cuts Mystery Quilt has dropped, and Ashelyn of Urban Dwell was the stitcher behind this month's block. It's part of an amazing quilt that will be raffled off at the end of the year with all funds supporting the Social Justice Sewing Academy.
There's over 400 patterns in my shop - I know, I know, that's a lot of patterns! So unless you have endless time on your hands to scroll through, you might not have seen some of the previous patterns. So I thought I'd do a little highlight of a fave previous pattern - who knows, maybe it's just what you're looking for!
β
Snail's Pace is a fun FPP pattern featuring a sweet snail amidst a myriad of mushrooms! The pattern comes in three sizes - 15", 16" and 18".
Need a lil more quilty inspiration? Let me add to that by sharing some of the fun finds I've come across in my internet travels. Click on the pic to go straight to the link :)
Chicken Chatter
We gave the chickens a treat of some sweet potato. I just cut it up into big chunks so more of them could get to it. It amused me that they ate the centre of the vege out. So there's some random orange circles sitting in the coop now. But the chooks were happy!
β
Hope you had a lovely Easter (for those who celebrate), and nab a lil chocolate and hopefully some sewing time! I've been busy longarming a bunch of quilt tops that have been sitting in the cupboard waiting to be finished. So now I need to get to the park and find some pretty backgrounds to snap photos. Fingers crossed I'll have those to share next newsletter.
Happy sewing!

A little note on affiliate links: some of the links included in this newsletter are affiliate links. It doesn't add anything to the cost of the item to you, but it helps me pay those upkeep bills on our high maintenance chickens ;)

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Finally, the weather here has started cooling and it feels like we're properly into Autumn here in Australia. The leaves have started changing colour which is one of my favourite things about where I live. Having grown up on the coast where that didn't happen, it's a delight to see the shift from green to reds and pinks! I've designed quite a few patterns over the years featuring leaf designs - but my favourite is the big bundle -...
Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I thought I'd share a little snap of my mum, Carolyn, and me! She's my biggest cheerleader - and if you're in any of the Quiet Play FB groups, she'll be one of your biggest cheerleaders too!. She's not just the reason for my existence ;), she's also the person responsible for me starting quilting. About 15 years ago, I casually mentioned I'd like to learn how to quilt. Next thing, Mum went...
Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Last week I opened the doors of The Pantry for a lil sneak peek for those on the waitlist. But this week?
