🌈 Rainbow Ramblings πŸ₯«πŸ¦₯

Hey Reader!

Last week I opened the doors of The Pantry for a lil sneak peek for those on the waitlist. But this week? This week I've flung the doors wide and inviting you to jump on in and join us!

Sew jars of jam, bottles of sauce (or cordial!), and tins of food in this six month Block of the Month. Over the course of six months, you'll collect six different containers and sixteen fruit and vege patterns - everything you need to mix and match and create a pretty pantry!

And as a newsletter insider, there's a special discount code. Just pop the word cherries in at the discount section of the checkout and save 10%!

May the 4th be with you ;)

I can't believe how rapidly the end of April is approaching! May is a busy birthday month in our family, and I always have grand plans of all the things I'll sew for gifts. Guess how many I've done? Zero! Guess it's online shopping again this year, and maybe next year I'll learn my lesson to start earlier. But probably not ;)

It did occur to me though that with May just around the corner, that means Star Wars day (May the 4th) is around the corner. And so that I don't miss mentioning it in time, or one of you is going "yes! Last minute Star Wars sewing here I come", I just so happen to have a collection of free Star Wars themed foundation paper pieced patterns from over the years.

So if you're feeling like these are the patterns you're looking for, click the button and you can get a bunch of fun and free Star Wars patterns to save and sew! And if you're managing your time better than I am and sewing one of these for a May birthday, there's only one thing left for me to say. May the force be with you ;)

Speaking of May...

With the new month arriving, there will be new patterns arriving to Make Mine Mini! Hello foundation paper piecing fun! Want a sneak peek?

Of course you do!

Here's what's headed to MMM members on the 1st May!

Plus if you join now, you can still nab the April patterns before the new patterns arrive!

If you'd like to hear from one our members, here's a lovely review that just came in!

"Kristy...I love your patterns!! Just when I think I've seen all you have in the store, here comes something I haven't seen & just gotta have! I've been a member of Make Mine Mini for a good many years now. I'm constantly surprised by the new patterns you design for us & I know that you will continue to do so. Thanks for all your hard work & great customer service."

Quilty Happenings

There's a couple of fun things happening in the quiltosphere so I thought I'd share them with you - in case you're looking for a little more inspiration!

Sugar House Quilt Pattern

Amanda of Prairie Quilt Co has just released this super cute pattern!

Sugar House is a block-based quilt pattern that is appropriate for comfortable beginners, or any quilter who loves a vintage inspired quilt design.

Mystery Quilt with a Mission

I'm joining in with the Cotton Cuts team to create a beautiful quilt to raise money for the Social Justice Sewing Academy. Clue 3 has just been released and this one was sewn up by Amanda of Mandy Andy Designs. It's going to be such a cute quilt - and could be yours!

Need a holiday?

Ange of Gnome Angel and I are headed on holidays in July and we'd like to take you with us! Don't worry, there's no bunk beds or sleeping in tents (eww outdoors!), we're holidaying in style!

It's an island getaway, it's unlimited time to sew, it's fully catered, it's the quilty holiday you've been waiting for! BUT there are limited spaces and it's nearly full! So if you want to join us, there's not too many places left!

This is the beautiful Norfolk Island - a small island between Australia and New Zealand. But you don't have to be an Aussie or Kiwi to join us (though we do love our antipodean friends!), this is open to everyone! So if you've been thinking of a trip to Australia, why not add in a little jaunt to Norfolk Island with us as part of the holiday? Come along and sew your cares away!

Ange has put together an excellent resource outlining everything about the trip and answering those frequently asked questions. Give it a click and book your next trip!

While I might not have gotten my May birthday sewing underway, I have been working on the Tilda Embroidery pixel quilt! I am on panel 7 of 9 currently - but here's a messy-not-at-all-styled photo I snapped of the design wall with six of the panels.I am loving how it's coming together

It's entirely possible that I may continue to procrastinate on stitching birthday gifts, and I may very well be working on the next panel of this pretty quilt! I hope that you're finding something to sew that brings you just as much joy (and maybe a lil less of the procrastination ;) )

Happy sewing!

P.S. Don't forget there's a discount code (cherries) waiting for you if you'd like to join us in The Pantry!

A little note on affiliate links: some of the links included in this newsletter are affiliate links. It doesn't add anything to the cost of the item to you, but it helps me pay those upkeep bills on our high maintenance chickens ;)

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Finally, the weather here has started cooling and it feels like we're properly into Autumn here in Australia. The leaves have started changing colour which is one of my favourite things about where I live. Having grown up on the coast where that didn't happen, it's a delight to see the shift from green to reds and pinks! I've designed quite a few patterns over the years featuring leaf designs - but my favourite is the big bundle -...

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I thought I'd share a little snap of my mum, Carolyn, and me! She's my biggest cheerleader - and if you're in any of the Quiet Play FB groups, she'll be one of your biggest cheerleaders too!. She's not just the reason for my existence ;), she's also the person responsible for me starting quilting. About 15 years ago, I casually mentioned I'd like to learn how to quilt. Next thing, Mum went...

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! I have a new video to share! I've put together some of my hints and tips for faster foundation paper piecing. We all know it's not a super fast technique but there's a couple things you can do to make it a lil faster and a bit more streamlined. I'm making it a goal this year to try to get over my dislike of making videos, so that I can share these sorts of hints and tips. A video natural, I am not, but hopefully it might be a lil...
