🌈 Rainbow Ramblings πŸ‚πŸ¦

Hey Reader!

Finally, the weather here has started cooling and it feels like we're properly into Autumn here in Australia. The leaves have started changing colour which is one of my favourite things about where I live. Having grown up on the coast where that didn't happen, it's a delight to see the shift from green to reds and pinks!

I've designed quite a few patterns over the years featuring leaf designs - but my favourite is the big bundle - Leaves in Bloom. I designed these to show off my fabric line (called Bloom) back in 2023. And embarrassing to admit, but I'm amongst friends right? I have a quilt top made with these that only needs the binding to finish it! So I'm making that my mission and will share it next newsletter.

If you have an idea of something to make with these or you'd just like to make your own leaves, I've got a lil newsletter discount code for you.

Use code autumn26 and you can save 25% off this big bundle!

There are twelve different leaf patterns included and they come in two different sizes 6" and 8". It's a bunch of FPP goodness all in one bundle. You'll find leaf shapes for apple, ash, aspen, birch, clover, elm, gingko, gum, hawthorn, maple, oak and poplar.

Now I better go bind that quilt so I can share it next week. Keep me accountable won't you?

Making Mini

Some of our awesome members of Make Mine Mini have already been sewing up the May blocks and they look so fantastic. Have a look at these pretties!

Pam turned those cute Frozen Treats into a little potholder - isn't it adorable! And Moriah dug into the scrap basket to create her cute Picnic Lunch block!

These are the two patterns we're sewing this month in Make Mine Mini and we'd love for you to come join us! You get these two brand new exclusive patterns - and they both come in multiple sizes.

Plus you get a member discount to all patterns in my shop, access to a welcoming community to cheer you on, and a bunch of inspiration to get you sewing! If you love foundation paper piecing, MMM is the place for you!

New to the shop!

There's a couple new little patterns to the shop. I realised I didn't set up the Toucan Wreath pattern properly so if it was one you were wanting to add to your pattern stash, you'll find it waiting for you - along with a lil geometric pineapple!

New issue, new inspiration!

We just hit publish on our 70th issue of Make Modern! Seventy! That's over 700 patterns, and thousands of pages of quilty goodness and inspiration! We shared that we're wrapping Make Modern up at the end of the year, but we have a few more issues to share. So now's an excellent time to grab our latest issue!

Chicken Chatter

I've had a few requests for a chook photo so here it is! The chicken coop is full of feathers with the chickens moulting - but they're still as entertaining (and noisy!) as ever. We have just the four chickens now and I'm not sure if we'll get more at this stage. But we'll enjoy the company of these gals in the meantime!

Enough of my ramblings for today - I need to go put that binding on the quilt I mentioned! I'll share the photos next newsletter. In the meantime, don't forget to use the discount code "autumn26" on that big bundle of leaf patterns!

Have a wonderful week - and carve out a little sewing time for yourself!

Happy sewing!

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I thought I'd share a little snap of my mum, Carolyn, and me! She's my biggest cheerleader - and if you're in any of the Quiet Play FB groups, she'll be one of your biggest cheerleaders too!. She's not just the reason for my existence ;), she's also the person responsible for me starting quilting. About 15 years ago, I casually mentioned I'd like to learn how to quilt. Next thing, Mum went...

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Last week I opened the doors of The Pantry for a lil sneak peek for those on the waitlist. But this week? This week I've flung the doors wide and inviting you to jump on in and join us! Sew jars of jam, bottles of sauce (or cordial!), and tins of food in this six month Block of the Month. Over the course of six months, you'll collect six different containers and sixteen fruit and vege patterns - everything you need to mix and match...

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! I have a new video to share! I've put together some of my hints and tips for faster foundation paper piecing. We all know it's not a super fast technique but there's a couple things you can do to make it a lil faster and a bit more streamlined. I'm making it a goal this year to try to get over my dislike of making videos, so that I can share these sorts of hints and tips. A video natural, I am not, but hopefully it might be a lil...
