With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I thought I'd share a little snap of my mum, Carolyn, and me! She's my biggest cheerleader - and if you're in any of the Quiet Play FB groups, she'll be one of your biggest cheerleaders too!. She's not just the reason for my existence ;), she's also the person responsible for me starting quilting.
About 15 years ago, I casually mentioned I'd like to learn how to quilt. Next thing, Mum went to the quilt shop and asked around for what notions I'd need and bought me a cutting mat, ruler, rotary cutter and fabric to get started. Who would have thought that would lead to where I am now - where quilting is my full time job and a much loved hobby! I am very fortunate.
So here we are! I'm now teaching Mum how to use the longarm machine so she can get her projects finished too.

In The Pantry, we create a foundation pieced pattern then add it to another paper pieced pattern to create our jars, bottles and tins! This is a technique you can use to level up your paper piecing. It makes it so easy to mix and match. If you're wondering how that works, I've put together a little video tutorial to show how I do it.
