🌈 Rainbow Ramblings 🧺🌸

Hey Reader!

With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I thought I'd share a little snap of my mum, Carolyn, and me! She's my biggest cheerleader - and if you're in any of the Quiet Play FB groups, she'll be one of your biggest cheerleaders too!. She's not just the reason for my existence ;), she's also the person responsible for me starting quilting.

About 15 years ago, I casually mentioned I'd like to learn how to quilt. Next thing, Mum went to the quilt shop and asked around for what notions I'd need and bought me a cutting mat, ruler, rotary cutter and fabric to get started. Who would have thought that would lead to where I am now - where quilting is my full time job and a much loved hobby! I am very fortunate.

So here we are! I'm now teaching Mum how to use the longarm machine so she can get her projects finished too.

Happy Mother's Day Mum! See you for a barbie and some pickle ball on Sunday ;)

And to you lovely readers, whether you're a mum, a grandma, a furbaby mama, or filling a mother figure role, I hope that you have a chance to spend a little time sewing and doing the things that you love the most this weekend!

If you'd like your weekend to include a little sewing, whether celebrating Mother's Day or you just wanna sew, you can use discount code cheerleader and save 15% on allll the patterns in my shop until 14th May!

Picnic Fun!

A new month has arrived and that means there are new patterns out now in Make Mine Mini! This month we're headed on a picnic, sewing a cute lil picnic basket with a circle of jars to fill with your favourite fussycuts!

Plus our second new pattern this month is cute and fun! A pair of popsicles - or icy poles, or ice lollies, or ice creams - whatever you might call them. Us Aussies mostly say icy poles! I kinda want to make a whole quilt full of these cuties!

Want to make these patterns yours? Join us in Make Mine Mini! It's the place to be if you love FPP. A monthly membership full of foundation pieced patterns, bonus goodies, and a whole bunch of fun.

Make mine Mini is Awesome fun!

Kristy I Love your patterns!! So much fun and love the way that they turn out! Make mine Mini helps to better my skills with FPP - I have purchased a few of your patterns and I love them!! Now I can look forward to monthly new ones! Thanks for all the fun!

The doors to The Pantry are open!

Our first pantry patterns arrive in just two days! Each month for the next six months, Pantry members will receive a container block plus two (sometimes three!) fruits and veges to choose from. So many options await!

It's the ultimate mix and match quilt - you can really make this completely your own.

Want to join in the fun from the very beginning? sign up for this 6 month Block of the Month, use discount code cherries and save! Then just two more sleeps til the first patterns arrive!

In The Pantry, we create a foundation pieced pattern then add it to another paper pieced pattern to create our jars, bottles and tins! This is a technique you can use to level up your paper piecing. It makes it so easy to mix and match. If you're wondering how that works, I've put together a little video tutorial to show how I do it.

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Finally, the weather here has started cooling and it feels like we're properly into Autumn here in Australia. The leaves have started changing colour which is one of my favourite things about where I live. Having grown up on the coast where that didn't happen, it's a delight to see the shift from green to reds and pinks! I've designed quite a few patterns over the years featuring leaf designs - but my favourite is the big bundle -...

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Last week I opened the doors of The Pantry for a lil sneak peek for those on the waitlist. But this week? This week I've flung the doors wide and inviting you to jump on in and join us! Sew jars of jam, bottles of sauce (or cordial!), and tins of food in this six month Block of the Month. Over the course of six months, you'll collect six different containers and sixteen fruit and vege patterns - everything you need to mix and match...

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! I have a new video to share! I've put together some of my hints and tips for faster foundation paper piecing. We all know it's not a super fast technique but there's a couple things you can do to make it a lil faster and a bit more streamlined. I'm making it a goal this year to try to get over my dislike of making videos, so that I can share these sorts of hints and tips. A video natural, I am not, but hopefully it might be a lil...
