If you love modern quilting, particularly foundation paper piecing, this is the newsletter for you! You'll find a dose of rainbow, a little creative shenanigans and a bunch of quilty chatter coming your way each week.
I've been working on a fun project behind the scenes - planning, designing, sewing - and even quilting it myself on the longarm and I can't keep it a secret anymore. So I'm going to jump right on in. Here's a lil glimpse and I'll be sharing more over the next few weeks. But I want to introduce you to my latest project... The Pantry!
β
I started with an idea of a little jam jar that I can customise and feature various little fruits in. Then it grew to include tin/cans and bottles - oh and some veges mixed in for fun. I couldn't stop! I love a bit of a mix and match quilt where you can customise it to make it your own. That's exactly what this is!
There are six container shapes, and 16 fruits and veges that you can stitch up to choose your own adventure! It's all foundation paper pieced, and it's perfect for even a confident beginner to dive into.
Oh and did I mention it's going to be a new Block of the Month? That way we can stitch a couple blocks a month and by the end of six months have a perfect picnic quilt!

The Pantry doors open soon, and we'll be starting sewing in May. That gives plenty of time to find those perfect fabrics and plan out what you'd like to make.
Not keen on an entire quilt? I'm including options on making a table runner - plus really, you can mix and match to your heart's content and make whatever makes your quilty heart happy. How about... tote bags to take to the farmer's market? Cute pillows? Pot holders? Tea towels? So many options! But the only thing you have to make a decision about now is joining the waitlist. It's the last day of March which means it's your last chance to grab our book patterns as part the Make Mine Mini membership. Plus new patterns are arriving tomorrow. More bang for your buck!
Here's what's leaving Make Mine Mini soon...
And here's what's arriving tomorrow!
Why not jump in and join us? Each month brings two brand new FPP patterns (with multiple size options), plus an exclusive discount on all PDF patterns, access to a members-only shop, and a lovely community to cheer you on and support you.
You may or may not know, when I'm not dabbling in rainbows and FPP, I have my Creative Director hat on over at Make Modern magazine. The three of us started the magazine back in 2014 and have been publishing six issues a year since. It's been a wonderful journey, but all good things must come to an end. We've announced that we will be wrapping up the magazine at the end of the year. It's not a decision we take lightly, but it's the right one for each of us at this time.
So what's that mean for you? There's an amazing last-chance offer to grab our VIP bundle that gives you access to allllllll of the issues we've ever published (and will include our final four that are coming out this year). That'll be 73 issues - over 700 patterns, hundreds of articles and thousands of pages of inspiration.

This new website is markets as ravelry for quilters. It's new, and I haven't had much time yet to play around, but as a crocheter, I love ravelry, and I'm excited to see how this goes for quilting!
Need a lil more quilty inspiration? Let me add to that by sharing some of the fun finds I've come across in my internet travels. Click on the pic to go straight to the link :)
Chicken Chatter
I haven't shared a chook photo in a newsletter or two, so here's one to keep the chicken lovers amongst us happy! This is C-Peep-PO (PeePO for short). She's broody at the moment and I have to nudge her out of the coop to come get some food and sunshine. I love how fluffy this little sizzle (frizzle silkie) is!
β
I'm off to spend some more time getting futher acquainted with the longarm machine. I have a bunch more quilt tops that need a bit of quilting done - and a whole bunch more projects to sew and add to the to-quilt list!
Hoping you have a wonderful week and find some time to sew something just for you.
Happy sewing!

P.S. if you're keen to create your own Pantry, make sure you sign up for the waitlist! (And tell your friends!)
A little note on affiliate links: some of the links included in this newsletter are affiliate links. It doesn't add anything to the cost of the item to you, but it helps me pay those upkeep bills on our high maintenance chickens ;)

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Finally, the weather here has started cooling and it feels like we're properly into Autumn here in Australia. The leaves have started changing colour which is one of my favourite things about where I live. Having grown up on the coast where that didn't happen, it's a delight to see the shift from green to reds and pinks! I've designed quite a few patterns over the years featuring leaf designs - but my favourite is the big bundle -...
Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I thought I'd share a little snap of my mum, Carolyn, and me! She's my biggest cheerleader - and if you're in any of the Quiet Play FB groups, she'll be one of your biggest cheerleaders too!. She's not just the reason for my existence ;), she's also the person responsible for me starting quilting. About 15 years ago, I casually mentioned I'd like to learn how to quilt. Next thing, Mum went...

This week I've flung the doors wide and inviting you to jump on in and join us! Sew jars of jam, bottles of sauce (or cordial!), and tins of food in this six month Block of the Month. Over the course of six months, you'll collect six different containers and sixteen fruit and vege patterns - everything you need to mix and match...
