If you love modern quilting, particularly foundation paper piecing, this is the newsletter for you! You'll find a dose of rainbow, a little creative shenanigans and a bunch of quilty chatter coming your way each week.
Did you watch the splashdown from the Artemis II mission? It was the perfect time on Saturday morning for us Aussies and it was a great way to start the day. I have loved checking in on the astronauts each day on the livestream, seeing the incredible photos of the moon, and just witnessing the amazing things humans can do when we work together. One of my fave things from this entire time, is the phrase "moon joy" coined by Jacki Mahaffey at Mission Control. I think it sums up how so many of us have felt about this mission. So I decided to design a little pattern just for that - and it's free!
β
It's foundation paper pieced and measures 12" finished. It's a free pattern to share a bit of moon joy with my fellow space nerd quilters!
I'm putting the finishing touches on The Pantry and our new Block of the Month will be launching soon! If you'd like to join us and create your own jam jars, sauce bottles and tins of food, make sure you jump on the waitlist. You'll be first to hear, plus nab an earlybird discount!
Plus it comes with options! Instructions on how to make a fun throw quilt (perfect for picnics) as well as a cute table runner. Or you can get creative and use the blocks for things like potholders, tea towels or tote bags!
It's all choose your own adventure - with 16 fruit/vege patterns to mix and match with six different container blocks. Can you tell I like options? ;) Make sure you're on the waitlist though, because along with options, we all love an earlybird discount!
We're sewing a cute little sloth amongst the hibiscus in Make Mine Mini this month! I decided to turn my sleepy sloth into a little cushion (or pillow if that's your preferred term!).
β
I was stoked to find the perfect panto in Pro Stitcher to use on this little guy. It matched the hibiscus flowers perfectly! Also - loving using the longarm to quilt up these cushion tops!
But back to the FPP! You can find this lil sloth pattern in this month's pattern release in Make Mine Mini. It comes in three sizes - 15", 16" and 18". Plus you get a lil monstera leaf pattern, exclusive discount, and a bunch of other goodies.
The newest flower in A Year of Flowers comes out tomorrow! And it's the May birth flower - the beautiful Lily of the Valley! The pattern arrives tomorrow and gives some time to sew it for any special birthdays coming up in May!
β
A year of Flowers features the birth flower for each month, with options to create a beautiful wreath, or frame your flowers.
When you join us, you'll get access to all of the patterns released so far. Then you can choose if you want to sew them in order or just make your favourite flower first!
Need a lil more quilty inspiration? Let me add to that by sharing some of the fun finds I've come across in my internet travels. Click on the pic to go straight to the link :)
In addition to space nerds in my family, it's also filled with aviation nerds. So we spent a day on the Gold Coast with the three men in my life living their best aviation day with a joy flight over the coast - aerobatics included. It was a gift to celebrate my son graduating from high school, my partner getting a big promotion at work and my dad turning 80 (a lil belated on his gift!). So it ticked a lot of boxes! (Plus we figured we better do it now before fuel prices get any higher!) I was standing at the edge of the hangar, and looked out and could see the moon in the sky as well. That was a little moment of moon joy right there!
But now back to earth and back to the usual routine! Which while it might be routine, is no less exciting for me - sewing and quilting! I have lots on the to-do list and lots to share soon. I just need to find something else to keep me company now that I no longer thave the NASA livestream to watch!
Hoping you have a wonderful week and find a bit of excitement and joy in your sewing too!
Happy sewing!

P.S. Don't forget to jump on the waitlist for The Pantry to nab an earlybird discount!
A little note on affiliate links: some of the links included in this newsletter are affiliate links. It doesn't add anything to the cost of the item to you, but it helps me pay those upkeep bills on our high maintenance chickens ;)

Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Finally, the weather here has started cooling and it feels like we're properly into Autumn here in Australia. The leaves have started changing colour which is one of my favourite things about where I live. Having grown up on the coast where that didn't happen, it's a delight to see the shift from green to reds and pinks! I've designed quite a few patterns over the years featuring leaf designs - but my favourite is the big bundle -...
Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I thought I'd share a little snap of my mum, Carolyn, and me! She's my biggest cheerleader - and if you're in any of the Quiet Play FB groups, she'll be one of your biggest cheerleaders too!. She's not just the reason for my existence ;), she's also the person responsible for me starting quilting. About 15 years ago, I casually mentioned I'd like to learn how to quilt. Next thing, Mum went...
Click here to view this email in your web browser Hey Reader! Last week I opened the doors of The Pantry for a lil sneak peek for those on the waitlist. But this week? This week I've flung the doors wide and inviting you to jump on in and join us! Sew jars of jam, bottles of sauce (or cordial!), and tins of food in this six month Block of the Month. Over the course of six months, you'll collect six different containers and sixteen fruit and vege patterns - everything you need to mix and match...
